The trustees met in January 2024 to discuss the program for this years awards and as a result of this meeting, we had a Zoom session with the Universities yesterday to discuss the timings of the awards. It is the first time that the trustees have met the staff from the Student Funding and Financial Award Teams and as well as being great to put faces to names, it was interesting to hear how they raise awareness within the Universities for the various funding options that are available to students who are in financial need. Since the Grundy Educational Trust is a relatively small charity it was stressed that all applicants must have strong applications with good supporting financial figures.
In particular we are looking for:
i) Strong academic past performance and potential
(ii) Eligible STEM type courses
(iii) Demonstrable financial need and where the Trust can make a meaningful contribution
